In her first article after Senator Barack Obama was declared the winner of the Presidential Election, AP’s Nedra Pickler disrespects Obama by refusing to refer to him as “President-Elect”.
Only hours after Senator Obama demonstrated astonishing support among the American people and a complete domination of the Electoral College, Nedra Pickler still denies any respect to the Democratic Party, and completely trashes Senator Obama by stubbornly refusingly to concede he is the “President-Elect”.
Pickler, writing for the Associated Press in an article published at 11:58pm on Nov. 4, 2008, acknowledges, that “the Democratic senator was elected the country’s first black president” in the opening of her article. Yet, Pickler either avoids or flat out refuses to address the Senator as “President-Elect Obama.” Nowhere in the article does Pickler place the title “President-Elect” before Obama, referring to him only by last name.
And, as if she’s at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix, Pickler even tries to take some shots at President-Elect Obama, summing up the campaign thusly, “[it was an] epic 21-month campaign that [Obama] entered as an underdog with only two years experience in national office.”
This is ENOUGH OF NEDRA PICKLER! An AP writer cannot continue to display such vulgarity towards the next President. Why won’t Nedra refer to him as “President-Elect Obama”? If people like John Aravosis at Americablog.com find out that Nedra Pickler completely disrespected Senator Obama by refusing to call him “President-Elect”,… John is one person that could force Nedra to apologize!
